At Tender Care Learning Center of Shadyside, our teachers and staff bring creativity, enthusiasm and a genuine love of children to our school every day. We take the time to get to know you and your child, and we keep you informed about all of the exciting experiences your child has with us. Our “learning-at-play” approach and award-winning curriculum helps the children in our care develop social, emotional and educational skills that prepare them for kindergarten and beyond.
We would be happy to take you on a visit of our school! Call us today at 412-683-1779 to schedule your visit.

I told my daughter (2) that school was closed so her teachers could learn (for In Service Day). She said, “I will miss them.” It was so sweet and reflects how comfortable she is at Tender Care!A Shadyside Parent
"We wanted to have our child be in a nurturing and learning environment, Tender Care Learning Center (TCLC)— Shadyside has been nothing short of this. We were very impressed with how the teachers are very patient, caring, and respectful. The relationships we have developed with the staff not only encourage a good environment for our child but also allows for an open line of communication. We don’t just think of TCLC—Shadyside as a childcare facility but as an extension of our family, especially with all the fun activities and support that they offer to each family and their loved ones. It is so important as a parent to know that your child is receiving the best possible care in your absence and at TCLC—Shadyside we have no doubt that our child is."
"Tomorrow my almost5yearold graduates from prek. She has been attending Tender Care since she was only two months old. Tonight at bedtime she asked me to turn to the back of our bedtime story to read the synopsis first. I did not teach her that, and that is one of the many reasons that I love Tender Care learning centers! As an infant she learned sign language, as a young toddler she learned how to nap on the mat, as an older toddler her she learned rules and boundaries, and then in preschool and prek, she was able to actively participate in the STEAM curriculum with very creative implementation. I adore all the teachers at Tender Care and I am extraordinarily sad for my daughter to move on to kindergarten but at the same time excited because she could not be more prepped and ready to do so. Before I was a mom, I thought that daycare was only a place to drop your children off to make sure they are safe while you go to work. I very quickly learned that Tender Care is much more than this and is truly a school from infancy through prekindergarten. I'm extraordinarily proud of the education my children have received at such young ages and would do it again in a heartbeat!"
